...low, too low on the roof. I need to rise it at least 3 meters more, otherwise those low signals from KH4, C21, YJ0 .... and so on, will never come in.
Due to a heavy storm in july, my beam antenna system collapsed. The tribander and the warc dipole have been completely destroyed. At the moment I'm qrv only on 30,40,80 mt. and waiting for spring to do a new installation.
April 2011.
Finally, after many months without antennas for frequencies above 40mt, I have finished the installation of my new beam. My need was to have just one antenna to cover as many bands as possible with the best performances in dx.
After a long research my choice went over the Ultrabeam UB50, which has a coverage from 6 down to 40mt.

I have update my shack with a more powerfull and modern amp... the Heathkit SB220 Amp has gone and a new Emtron DX-2 has come. This change should help me a bit more on hard pile-ups.
Summer 2018
Nothing new has come into the shack but during more one month I have been working around the UB50 antenna to repair an issue I had with a motor. Of much interest are the improvements I personally made to almost any part of the antenna before deciding to give up and go for aluminium ones. Fortunately, up to now (2023), it's working very well and I cross fingers for the future. Step by step I will write an article to explain with details what I did.
